Position OverviewFlowtec is partnered with one of Chicago’s leading general contractors to appoint a Project Manager for its growing design-build team.This is an opportunity to join a highly respected, financially secure contractor with an outstanding reputation across the Chicagoland market. The company delivers complex ground-up and renovation projects across the commercial, light industrial, healthcare, education, municipal and mixed-use sectors.The Project Manager will lead projects from the earliest stages of design and preconstruction through construction and closeout. With a true design-build model, this position offers far greater involvement in design development, estimating, constructability and overall project strategy than a traditional construction management role.Projects typically range from $10 million to more than $75 million, with the majority located throughout Chicagoland.ResponsibilitiesManage design-build projects from initial concept through final completionCoordinate closely with internal design, preconstruction and field teamsLead owner, architect, engineer and subcontractor meetingsOversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement and financial reportingReview design documents for constructability, cost and schedule implicationsManage RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentationPartner with the Superintendent to develop and maintain the project scheduleIdentify potential risks early and implement practical solutionsMaintain strong relationships with owners, consultants and trade partnersMentor Assistant Project Managers and Project EngineersEnsure projects are completed safely, profitably and to the highest quality standardsRequirementsAt least five years of project management experience with a general contractorExperience delivering ground-up commercial construction projectsStrong understanding of preconstruction, design development and project financialsDesign-build experience is preferredExcellent communication, organization and leadership skillsProficiency with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similarBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field is preferredWhat’s OfferedCompetitive base salaryAnnual performance bonusVehicle allowance and mileage reimbursementComprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage401(k) with company contributionGenerous PTO and paid holidaysLocal Chicagoland project portfolio with limited travelDirect access to senior leadershipStrong internal support from design, estimating and field operationsClear progression toward Senior Project Manager and Project ExecutiveLong-term stability with one of Chicago’s most established general contractors
