Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cabling projects within electrical substations, covering high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV), and low voltage (LV) power cables as well as control, protection, and communication cabling. The role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and client specifications, from planning and mobilization through testing, commissioning, and handover.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning and ExecutionPlan, schedule, and manage cabling projects in new and existing substationsDevelop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and detailed programsCoordinate cable installation activities, including laying, trenching, tray and ladder work, pulling, termination, jointing, glanding, and labelingOversee cable schedules, routing, and drum scheduling, and manage as-built documentationMonitor progress against schedule and take corrective action to prevent delaysTechnical and Quality ManagementReview and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, utility/client standards)Coordinate with design, civil, mechanical, and electrical teams on interfaces and clashesEnsure proper testing and commissioning, including insulation resistance, continuity, high-voltage withstand, and cable sheath testsImplement quality assurance and control procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and punch list closureHealth, Safety and Environment (HSE)Enforce strict HSE compliance in live and energized substation environmentsEnsure method statements, risk assessments, permits to work, and isolation procedures are in place and followedLead toolbox talks, incident investigations, and corrective actionsStakeholder and Team ManagementServe as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and utility authoritiesLead and motivate site engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, and subcontractor crewsConduct regular progress meetings and submit weekly and monthly reportsManage risks, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues promptlyQualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field[8-12] years of experience in power or electrical projects, with at least [5] years managing substation cabling or similar projectsProven experience with HV/MV cable installation, termination, and testingPMP or equivalent project management certification preferredNEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification preferred
