Project Sales Engineer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESYour key responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following:Business Development & Sales ActivitiesIdentify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within power plants, petrochemical plants, and industrial sectors throughout Malaysia.Promote the Company’s engineering services, maintenance solutions, technical capabilities, and project expertise to existing and potential clients.Conduct regular customer visits, technical discussions, and business meetings to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.Understand customer requirements, project scope, technical specifications, and commercial expectations to propose suitable solutions.Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to support business growth strategies.Maintain and develop a structured sales pipeline, including potential leads, tender opportunities, ongoing negotiations, and awarded projects.Tendering & Technical ProposalPrepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions in accordance with customer requirements.Review project specifications, drawings, scope of work, and contractual requirements to ensure accurate costing and proposal preparation.Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Management teams to develop competitive solutions and pricing strategies.Source and communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain technical information and commercial quotations.Participate in tender clarification meetings, technical presentations, and negotiations with clients.Project Execution & CoordinationSupport and coordinate project execution activities from project award until completion.Liaise with clients, project teams, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project implementation.Monitor project progress, schedule, manpower requirements, material availability, and site activities.Conduct site visits and provide technical support during project execution when required.Ensure project deliverables meet customer requirements, quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.Prepare project progress reports, customer updates, and documentation for Management review.Other ResponsibilitiesAssist Management in strategic planning, business expansion, and improvement initiatives.Support operational, technical, and administrative activities as required.Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEducationBachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.Candidates with relevant technical experience in power plant or industrial engineering may also be considered.ExperienceMinimum 2–5 years of experience in sales, business development, project engineering, or technical services within the power plant, energy, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.Experience in power plant maintenance, outage projects, mechanical/electrical works, rotating equipment, or engineering services will be an added advantage.Experience in tender preparation, costing, quotation, and project coordination is preferred.Technical SkillsGood understanding of power plant operations, maintenance activities, and engineering services.Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and project documents.Familiar with project costing, procurement processes, and commercial negotiations.Knowledge of mechanical equipment, generator systems, pumps, valves, piping, or electrical systems is an advantage.Personal SkillsStrong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Able to build and maintain good relationships with customers and stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.Willing to travel to customer sites and project locations throughout Malaysia.Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.LanguagesProficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.Good written and verbal communication skills.
