Proposal Engineer – Industrial Automation

We are looking for an experienced Proposal Engineer with 3-5 years of relevant experience to prepare competitive techno-commercial proposals for Industrial Automation projects across the Middle East & Africa. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with major OEMs, EPC contractors, system integrators, and industrial end users, with a strong understanding of automation systems, OT cybersecurity, project execution, and commercial bid preparation.Key ResponsibilitiesReview RFIs, RFQs and tender documents to identify technical and commercial requirements.Prepare complete techno-commercial proposals for Industrial Automation projects, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and tender requirements.Coordinate with Engineering team for developing technical solutions for PLC, SCADA, DCS, SIS, RTU, HMI, Cybersecurity, and Digitalization projects.Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, suppliers, and internal engineering teams to obtain technical and commercial inputs.Prepare project cost estimates, BOMs, pricing, and commercial offers while maintaining target margins.Conduct technical and commercial clarifications with customers during the bidding process.Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and deviations, and incorporate them into proposals.Support sales teams during customer presentations, bid reviews, and negotiations.Maintain proposal documentation, bid registers, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.Ensure proposals comply with company standards, client specifications, legal requirements and applicable industry codes and standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.3–5 years of experience in proposal engineering, estimation, or bid management within Industrial Automation.Proven experience preparing proposals for major OEMs, EPC contractors, and industrial end users.Strong knowledge of automation systems, instrumentation, control systems, and OT cybersecurity.Excellent analytical, commercial, and documentation skills.Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.Preferred Industry ExperienceOil & GasPetrochemicalPower Generation & DistributionWater & WastewaterMarine & OffshoreManufacturingMining & MetalsTechnical KnowledgeHands-on knowledge of one or more of the following platforms is preferred:Rockwell AutomationSiemensSchneider ElectricABBEmersonHoneywellYokogawaGE VernovaMitsubishi ElectricWhat We're Looking ForStrong understanding of EPC project execution and tendering processes.Experience managing complex, multi-discipline industrial automation bids.Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining proposal quality.Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.Self-driven, organized, and capable of coordinating with multiple stakeholders.Willingness to travel for customer meetings, bid clarification sessions, and project kick-off activities when required.
