Senior Proposal Manager – Mission Critical / Data CentersThe OpportunityA leading construction and engineering business is looking to appoint a Senior Proposal Manager to lead major pursuits across its U.S. data center and mission-critical portfolio.This person will take full ownership of the proposal process from RFP through submission, coordinating internal teams, shaping the offer, managing deadlines and ensuring every bid is commercially strong, compliant and delivered on time.You will also help build and develop the wider proposal function across the U.S.Key ResponsibilitiesLead major proposals from initial bid decision through final submission.Build and manage proposal schedules, deadlines, responsibilities and deliverables.Review RFP requirements and ensure all submissions are fully compliant.Lead proposal kick-off meetings and coordinate internal teams.Work closely with business development and leadership to develop win strategies.Own proposal messaging, executive summaries and key differentiators.Coordinate input from engineering, estimating, procurement, construction, legal, planning and commercial teams.Manage RFIs, clarifications and client responses.Review and integrate estimates, schedules, commercial assumptions and project delivery plans.Manage proposal reviews, approvals and risk processes.Oversee proposal coordinators and support staff.Improve templates, case studies, project references and reusable proposal content.Ensure submissions are high quality, accurate and delivered on time.Support handover into project delivery following a successful award.Help build and develop the U.S. proposal team.Candidate Profile8+ years of experience in proposal management, bid management or preconstruction.Background within construction, engineering, AEC or mission-critical infrastructure.Proven experience managing complex proposals from RFP through submission.Strong understanding of construction and project delivery.Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contracts, risk and pricing.Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.Strong Microsoft Office skills; Adobe InDesign experience is beneficial.Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce.Previous experience managing or mentoring proposal staff.Data center or mission-critical construction experience is highly desirable.Ideal BackgroundThe strongest candidates will be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable driving multiple stakeholders toward a deadline.You should be able to take ownership of complex pursuits, simplify information, challenge teams when needed and produce clear, compelling proposals that give the business the best possible chance of winning.
