Apply & track with Apply Edge⚡ WE ARE HIRING | Protection & Control Design Engineer – HV Substation📍 Location: Dubai, UAE🏢 POWERCHINA JEPCC – MEA Regional HeadquartersWe are looking for an experienced Protection & Control Design Engineer with a strong background in HV/EHV Substation Engineering & Design.This is a DESIGN-FOCUSED position.Candidates whose experience is mainly in Testing & Commissioning, Maintenance, Site Execution, or Relay Testing without substantial design experience may not be suitable for this role.Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of relevant experience in HV/EHV Substation Protection & Control Design
- Hands-on engineering/design experience with 132kV / 220kV / 400kV substations preferred
- Strong knowledge of Protection & Control Schematics and Protection Schemes
- Experience with relay protection, control and interlocking logic
- Experience with CT/VT secondary circuits and trip/close circuits
- Knowledge of AC/DC auxiliary systems, DC systems, batteries and chargers
- Experience preparing/reviewing cable schedules, interconnection drawings and I/O/signal lists
- Experience with Protection & Control Panels and vendor drawing review
- Understanding of Substation Automation Systems (SAS), SCADA interfaces and IEC 61850
- Experience coordinating with Primary, SCADA/SAS, Telecom and other engineering disciplines
- GIS/AIS substation project experience
- EPC, engineering consultancy or utility project experience preferred
- UAE/GCC substation experience is an advantage
- Experience with DEWA, TAQA/TRANSCO, EWEC or similar utilities is highly preferred
- Candidates currently based in the UAE, particularly Dubai, will be given preference
- Good English communication and technical documentation skillsImportant: Solar PV experience is NOT mandatory.
