Brief Description:Assist students of all educational levels manage social, emotional, behavioral, and learning problems. provide therapy sessions and look after students’ mental heath to help them overcome a range of behavioral challenges.Education Requirements:A bachelor's degree in psychology, or a related subject.Experience Requirements:1-2 years of experience in the same or similar field.Required Skills:• High communication skills.• Interpersonal skills.• Understanding of ethics.• Patience.• Compassion.• Emotional stability.• Knowledge of MOE regulations.• Open-mindedness.• Trustworthiness• Observational skills• Non-judgmental.Duties & Responsibilities:Conducts individual and group evaluations and diagnoses of learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems of students at school.Provides guidance and assistance to students with learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems.Creating a safe and accepting environment in which students feel comfortable expressing their needs.Effectively communicating with students’ teachers, school staff, district administrators and children’s caregivers to meet student’s mental and emotional health needs.Use assessment and data collection methods to implement and evaluate services and programs that support social skill development, learning, and mental and behavioral health, through individual and group counseling, as well as school-wide training.Develop and implement practices and strategies to create and maintain effective, safe, and supportive learning environments and school climate for all students, including positive behavior intervention and supports.Evaluate and apply research as a foundation of service delivery, and in collaboration with others, use varied techniques and technological resources for data collection, measurement, and analysis to support effective practices at the individual, group and school level.Provides consultation and advisement to administrators, teachers, and parents regarding the general and special educational programs, as appropriate.Evaluate and report on student progress (e.g. using psychometric tests).Refer students to community services if needed.Perform other duties as assigned.
