Team members contribute to an accountable, client-centered system that emphasizes evidence-based practices and compassion in service delivery.Role Description The Adult Mental Health Psychologist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, providing direct clinical services to adults with seious mental illness in an inpatient setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, counseling and therapeutic interventions, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams that include physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers. The role also involves documenting services in accordance with regulatory and department standards, participating in case conferences, and contributing to program development and quality improvement efforts. The AMH Psychologist is expected to maintain ethical practice, uphold professional standards, and support DBHDD’s mission of recovery and independence for the people served.Qualifications Strong foundation in evidence-based interventions and behavioral health best practices for individuals woth serious mental illness.Proficiency in counseling and therapeutic techniques, including individual and group therapy.Experience in psychological assessment, including administration, scoring, interpretation, and diagnostic formulation.Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an accredited program; eligibility for licensure or current licensure as a Psychologist in the state of Georgia.Prior experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities in clinical or community settings.Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-disciplinary environment.Commitment to ethical practice, trauma-informed care, person-centered approaches, and ongoing professional development.
