The practice follows a clear philosophy: human first, clinical second, with a strong focus on real-life, person-centered care.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Psychologist role based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. The Psychologist will provide individual and, where appropriate, family or couples counselling, using evidence-informed therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical records, and delivering ongoing psychological support for a variety of presentations. The role also involves collaborating with other practitioners and referrers, contributing to internal case discussions, and supporting an inclusive, client-centered practice culture. Psychologists may also contribute to the practice’s broader mental health initiatives, such as developing resources, blog content, or input into community-facing materials aligned with Knox Mindfulness’ mission.Qualifications Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Psychologist with AHPRA, with appropriate professional indemnity insurance.Demonstrated skills in evidence-informed therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches, schema-focused or trauma-informed interventions).Strong capabilities in psychological assessment, case formulation, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical review.High-level interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to create a non-judgemental, client-centered therapeutic environment.Experience working with a range of presentations, such as anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, stress, identity and life transitions, and emotional regulation.Competence in clinical documentation, record-keeping, and use of practice management or electronic health record systems.Commitment to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, supervision, and staying up to date with current psychological research.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while managing an independent client caseload.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology and eligibility for Medicare provider status (or working towards eligibility) are highly desirable.
