We are currently looking for a Psychometrician to conduct statistical analyses to inform the development of psychological assessments and solutions. The Psychometrician will play a lead role in ensuring that our tests are psychometrically sound as defined by American & Canadian Psychological Association standards and other governing bodies (e.g., Association of Test Publishers, NCME). The Psychometrician will report to the Manager, Psychometrics within the Product Development division.WHAT YOU’LL DO: Plan and conduct high-level psychometric and statistical analyses (e.g., ANOVA, regression, factor analyses, measurement invariance, IRT modeling [item analysis, Rasch], continuous norming) required for selecting items, determining scores, and establishing evidence of reliability, validity, and fairness for the testsContribute to designing research studies, such as specifying the samples required to conduct the intended analyses, and to conceptualizing products (e.g., assist with item writing as measurement specialist, rather than content expert)Communicate results and provide statistical consultation to colleagues, stakeholders, and customers, as neededPrepare psychometric results for technical manuals/reports, or for journal publication and conference presentationsReview and learn new statistical techniques and software, and share this knowledge with colleagues, stakeholders, and customersWHAT YOU BRING You are a detail-oriented and analytical professional who is comfortable working with complex data, statistical methods, and multiple research priorities. You can translate technical findings into clear insights for colleagues, stakeholders, and customers, and you bring strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced product development environment. In addition, you bring:M.A./M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Psychology or related field (e.g., Educational Measurement, Statistics, Quantitative Methods) with an emphasis on quantitative data analyses or psychometricsProficient with statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS), word processors (e.g., MS Word), spreadsheet software (e.g., MS Excel), and presentation software (e.g., MS Powerpoint)Experience with Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory a major assetStrong writing, presentation, and language skills (e.g., knowledge translation)Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as in a team environmentBackground in forensic/public safety or developmental/clinical psychology an asset but not requiredAbout the TeamThe Psychometrics team is central to the development of MHS assessments, applying rigorous measurement principles and advanced statistical methods to ensure our products are reliable, valid, fair, and aligned with professional standards.Working collaboratively across Product Development, the team designs and supports research studies, analyzes assessment data, and translates complex findings into clear, meaningful insights. Their expertise helps strengthen our products and supports better decisions and outcomes for the people and communities we serve.Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annumLIFE AT MHSWe are an inclusive and collaborative team who encourage everyone here to learn, grow and THRIVE.
