Public Affairs Director

Role Description The Public Affairs Director at GENSOL - MOZAMBICAN GENIAL SOLUTIONS GROUP, SU. LDA will lead the organization’s external communications and stakeholder engagement in a part-time, remote capacity. This role involves developing and implementing public affairs strategies that align with organizational objectives, including policy advocacy and reputation management. The Director will manage relationships with government entities, media outlets, and key partners, prepare press releases and briefing materials, and coordinate responses to public inquiries. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring policy and regulatory developments, advising leadership on government and public affairs issues, crafting messaging for various channels, and ensuring consistent communication across platforms. The role also includes planning public-facing initiatives, supporting crisis communication efforts, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment between business goals and public affairs activities.Qualifications Strong Government Relations and Governmental Affairs skills, with experience engaging public sector stakeholders and navigating policy or regulatory environments.Demonstrated expertise in Public Affairs and Media Relations, including strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.Proficiency in drafting and managing Press Releases and other external communications, with excellent writing, editing, and messaging skills.Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time setting, with strong organizational skills, time management, and self-direction.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Portuguese or other relevant languages is an advantage.Experience in public policy, communications, advocacy, or a related field; prior work in international or multi-stakeholder environments is beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, International Relations, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive information and complex stakeholder interests.
