Public Affairs Director

Role Description The Public Affairs Director at Sté HORTI DARAA is a part-time, remote role responsible for leading the organization’s external communications and stakeholder engagement strategy. This role involves planning and implementing public affairs initiatives, managing relationships with government bodies, and overseeing media outreach activities. The Public Affairs Director drafts and reviews press releases, prepares key messages and talking points, and coordinates responses to public or media inquiries. The role includes monitoring relevant policy and regulatory developments, advising leadership on public affairs implications, and ensuring consistent, aligned messaging across channels. The Director also collaborates with internal teams to support campaigns, events, and strategic projects that enhance the organization’s public profile.Qualifications Demonstrated experience in public-facing roles, including Public Affairs and Governmental Affairs, with the ability to design and implement effective advocacy and engagement strategies.Proven skills in Government Relations, including building and maintaining relationships with public institutions, policymakers, and regulatory agencies.Strong background in Media Relations, including managing press interactions, briefing spokespersons, and supporting public statements and interviews.Experience preparing and overseeing Press Releases and related communications materials with clear, concise, and accurate messaging.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in en_US, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and channels.Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting while managing multiple priorities.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is an asset.Familiarity with relevant regional or sector-specific policy and regulatory environments; experience in agriculture, horticulture, or related industries is beneficial.
