Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing PR strategies that strengthen Garmin’s brand presence and increase awareness of Garmin products in Korea.The ideal candidate has strong media relations and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of Garmin’s brand, products and the sports and wearable technology landscape. This role will translate Garmin’s product innovations and brand values into compelling stories that resonate with media and consumers.Job Description· Develop and execute PR strategies and annual/quarterly PR plans aligned with Garmin Korea’s marketing and business objectives.· Proactively identify PR opportunities and pitch compelling stories to increase Garmin brand and product exposure across relevant media.· Build and maintain strong relationships with key media, journalists, editors, industry stakeholders and thought leaders.· Develop media relations strategies and secure quality coverage across technology, business, sports, lifestyle and other relevant media.· Develop and manage press releases, media materials and key messages to effectively communicate Garmin products’ key features, innovations and competitive advantages.· Develop a strong understanding of Garmin’s brand, product portfolio and key technologies, and translate product USPs into relevant and engaging stories for the Korean market.· Support PR activities for new product launches and key marketing campaigns, working closely with product marketing, digital, social, sales and other internal stakeholders.· Plan and execute various PR initiatives including media events, product reviews, interviews, thought leadership, influencer/KOL engagement and strategic partnerships.· Manage PR agencies, including briefing, execution, budget management and performance evaluation.· Monitor media coverage and industry trends and identify opportunities or potential issues affecting Garmin’s brand reputation.· Measure and report PR campaign performance and provide insights to continuously improve PR effectiveness.· Support crisis communication and corporate communication activities when required.Requirements· Fluent in Korean and business-level English.· 3+ years of hands-on experience in the PR field.· Possess strong existing media relationships· Strong media pitching skills and familiarity with the Korean media landscape.· Experience in PR agency management.· Ability to manage PR budgets and evaluate campaign performance.· Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).· Ability to understand product features and translate them into clear and relevant PR messagesPreferred· Strong knowledge of or interest in Garmin products and the Garmin brand.· Good knowledge of smart wearables, GPS technology and the sports technology industry.· Passionate about running, cycling, golf, outdoor activities or other sports.· PR experience in technology, consumer electronics, sports, outdoor or lifestyle industries.
