Job DescriptionCentra Medical Group is seeking a Pulmonary/Sleep Medicine Physician to join our collaborative, established team in Lynchburg, Virginia. Build a practice that blends Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine with limited Critical Care coverage, supported by an experienced team of physicians and APPs and the resources of a comprehensive regional health system.Our program offers broad clinical depth and advanced capabilities, including ION robotic bronchoscopy, an interventional bronchoscopy program, an AASM-accredited Sleep Medicine program with home and in-lab testing, Inspire therapy for obstructive sleep apnea, and a PHA-accredited Pulmonary Hypertension program. CMG includes family practices, specialists, and surgeons in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, urology, and more.CMG is also home to the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency, a training program for future family physicians, many of whom hold academic appointments with institutions like UVA, VCU, VCOM, and Liberty University.ResponsibilitiesYou Can Expect:Primarily outpatient with participation in a rotating inpatient pulmonary consult schedule Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine focus with a mix of outpatient, inpatient, and limited Critical Care responsibilities Approximately 3 weeks of clinic and 4 shifts of ICU coverage per month Robust Sleep Medicine program Rotating inpatient Pulmonary consult coverage with APP support Limited overnight burden: one third of ICU shifts will be night shifts. Pulmonary call is phone coverage only Weekend Pulmonary consult shifts shared equally, approximately 1:7–1:8, rounding alongside an APP Advanced pulmonary capabilities including ION robotic bronchoscopy and multidisciplinary care through Centra's PHA-accredited Pulmonary Hypertension program Established 19 Pulmonary and Sleep team including 9 physicians and 10 APPs QualificationsCompletion of a sleep medicine fellowship with board certification/eligibility is desirable. Candidates wishing to practice critical care must also be board certified/eligible in critical care medicine. Completion of a Pulmonary fellowship or combined Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Completion of medical degree and residency/fellowship training in Internal Medicine/Pulmonology.
