Purchasing Assistant

We are hiring an Assistant to the Purchasing Agent to assist in with administrative tasks and follow up or orders of raw materials, track orders, close out purchase requests. Position Responsibilities:Follow established company purchasing processes and proceduresFollow up and help track purchases of raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies from suppliers (USA, Canada) Review purchases and confirm specifications, quality and delivery for selection of vendors, priceReview vendor orders for accuracy, delivery dates, invoicing requirementsMonitor schedule and delivery dates of materials. Report issues with quality, quantity, delivery. With receiving clerk, coordinate non-conforming materials for defective/unacceptable goods or servicesRequirements and Qualifications:Experience purchasing or accounting of raw materials such as manufacturing or building materials (rather than finished products)Experience working in manufacturing, or service (HVAC, Electrical, Building) with basic understanding of fabrication, manufacturing, bill of materialsWe prefer working knowledge of computerized purchasing and inventory control systems, but we can train. We use NetSuite as our Material requirements planning (MRP) for production planning, scheduling, and inventory controlYou must be organized and punctual, able to to prioritize and carry out tasks in a demanding environmentMust have professional written, oral and inter-personal communication skills. You represent the company to vendors, and support the production and managementStrong use of Excel, email and Google is a must. Drug Free Workplace: We are a Florida Drug Free Workplace. The company requires all employees to complete a preemployment 10 panel drug screen; employment status will be dependent on ability to pass this screening and partake on a quarterly random screen. Hours, compensation and benefits: Full-time 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through FridayRate starts at $25.00 per hour and it is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.After 30-day waiting period employees become eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, paid holidays and paid time off that increase with longevity. After 90-Days employees over the age of 21 may participate in company sponsored 401(k).
