Medical, 401 (k) and PTOPosition Summary:Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to support their purchasing and procurement operations in a manufacturing/industrial environment. This position is primarily focused on data entry, purchase order processing, vendor follow-up, and maintaining accurate purchasing records.
Key Responsibilities
Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders in QuickBooks.Enter and maintain accurate part numbers, quantities, pricing, due dates, shipping information, and other purchasing data.Review purchase requisitions and purchasing requirements for completeness and accuracy.Send purchase orders to vendors and obtain order acknowledgments and confirmed delivery dates.Follow up with vendors regarding open purchase orders, late shipments, backorders, and delivery issues.Update purchase orders when quantities, pricing, delivery dates, or other requirements change.Maintain accurate vendor and purchasing records within the ERP system.Communicate purchasing status, material shortages, and potential delays to planning, production, and other departments.Coordinate with receiving and accounting to resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, receiving documentation, packing slips, invoices, quantities, and pricing.Assist with matching purchase orders, receiving documentation, and vendor invoices as needed.Maintain organized electronic purchasing documents and vendor correspondence.Assist Purchasing personnel with reports, data entry, filing, and other administrative duties.Maintain professional and productive relationships with suppliers and internal departments.Ensure purchasing information is entered accurately and in a timely manner.Perform other purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.Experience working with an ERP system required.QuickBooks experience strongly preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.Preferred Skills:Manufacturing or industrial purchasing experience.QuickBooks experience.Experience with purchase orders and three-way matching.Experience working with inventory, materials, parts, or production-related purchasing.Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
