Check purchase requests for the right item, quantity, budgetapproval, and delivery details before they become an order.2. Prepare purchase-order information using the approved system, thensend it for the required sign-off.3. Contact suppliers about availability, quoted lead times,substitutions, and delivery updates; record the answer accurately.4. Compare confirmations and receipts with the original request, flagshortages or damaged goods, and help route invoice differences forreview.5. Keep a simple view of open orders so project and office colleaguesknow what has arrived and what still needs attention.The job calls for comfortable communication as well as careful records.You will speak with vendors, update colleagues when timing changes, andask a useful question when the paperwork does not tell the full story.You will not be expected to choose suppliers or approve spending beyondthe authority you are given.Learn the commercial sideYou will receive training on the ordering process, record keeping, andhow to escalate exceptions. Over time, you can build confidence readingquotes, noticing patterns in late deliveries, and preparing clearerinformation for the person making purchasing decisions. That ismeaningful business experience for someone interested in procurement oroperations.Previous purchasing experience is welcome but is not required.Experience handling stock, orders, invoices, or spreadsheets in anothersetting can translate well.
