Purchasing Assistant Manager - 26501

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking a skilled Purchasing Assistant Manager. This role is responsible for leading procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and supporting manufacturing operations to optimize costs and quality.Job DutiesLead and support the Purchasing team in sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain management activitiesDevelop and execute commodity strategies to improve cost efficiency and supplier performanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Product Planning, on new program launches and special initiativesManage supplier relationships, oversee cost data, and resolve pricing discrepanciesDrive continuous improvement projects within the supply base to meet business targetsIssue purchase orders and track delivery schedules to ensure manufacturing needs are metReport on procurement progress and key metrics to leadership regularlySupport manufacturing facilities and suppliers through strategic initiatives and performance managementSkills & ExperienceRequiredPurchasing experience, preferably in automotive or industrial manufacturingProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related fieldStrong organizational and data management skillsAbility to work independently and meet tight deadlinesWillingness to travel up to 25%, including to supplier sites and other locations as neededDesiredExperience with automotive components, stamping, and fabrication commoditiesKnowledge of North American automotive supplier landscapeSupervisory or management experienceExperience working with international suppliers and customersFamiliarity with the commercial truck industry is a plusBlue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
