As part of OM Seating Purchasing team, our Purchasing Clerk is responsible for carrying out several purchasing and clerical functions pertaining to the purchase of raw material, supplies, and equipment as needed.Are you a focused, driven, and roll-up-your-sleeves person who is looking to be part of a team? We want you!Under this role you will:Research vendors and collect pricing, quotes, specifications, and other data related to goods and services; update database as needed to ensure accurate pricing of goods and servicesCollaboratively maintain new Forecast methodology/proceduresCreate and issue purchase orders in a timely manner and without errorObtain lead times from suppliers and update ERP System with PO ETAReview open orders and monitor shipments to ensure that the delivery of product is on time; communicate and document shipping delaysWork with other departments, including engineering, for sourcing and cutsheet supportWork closely with Design team to assist in interpreting and forecasting trends for new productsPrepare and update shipping schedules in a timely mannerWork with freight forwarders for quotes shipment booking, custom clearance, and container deliveryOrganize and file shipment documentsCommunicate any issue hindering order productionProvide support to other departments as needed in the reconciliation of purchase orders to sales ordersReport damaged goods and shortages with our domestic and overseas vendorsVerify part counts to Purchase Order, Manufacturing Order and Vendor Pack ListCommunicating daily with buyersConduct annual inventory count with the Warehouse Dept.Quickly adapt to changes/trends occurring in the business and in the marketplaceDaily monitoring and planning for inventory purchaseKeeping an inventory of products and supplies on hand and replenishing these itemsHelp the flow of products to help to determine inventory levels and needsother duties as assignedQualificationsHigh degree of attention to detail is key!Strong time management, organizational skills and high level of accuracyAbility to follow instruction, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline-driven environmentAbility to work independently and with a teamProactive thinkingStrong multitasking abilityStrong problem-solving skillsRequirementsBachelor’s or Associate’s degree2-3 years relevant experience in wholesale/manufacturing environment or office environmentDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Order Processing systemsExperience with ERP systemsExcellent mathematical skillsExcellent interpersonal communication skillsCalm and professional demeanorAbility to traverse the production floor as neededConversational Spanish (a plus, but not required)DetailsJob Type: Full Time (40+ hours a week)One location: Ontario, CATypical workday: 8:30a to 5:00p, M-FPay Rate $22.00 – $24.00 Compensation may vary commensurate with experience.BenefitsMedical/Dental/Vision Insurance401k401k MatchingVacation timePaid Holidays
