About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to lead procurement activities for a well-established organization in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in shipbuilding or ship repair, with experience managing procurement of engineering materials, equipment, machinery, and project-related purchases. Candidates from construction or EPC companies will also be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, RFQs, vendor evaluation, negotiations, purchase orders, and contract management.Develop procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing costs.Source mechanical, electrical, marine, structural, and project-related materials from local and international suppliers.Build and maintain a reliable vendor network, ensuring quality, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery.Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions, and long-term supplier agreements.Coordinate closely with Engineering, Production, Planning, Stores, and Project teams to meet project timelines.Monitor inventory levels and ensure critical materials are available without excessive stockholding.Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and contractual requirements.Prepare procurement reports, supplier performance evaluations, and cost-saving initiatives.Lead and mentor the procurement team while driving process improvements.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.8–12 years of procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.Mandatory experience in Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, or Marine Engineering companies.Candidates from Construction or EPC organizations may also be considered if they have handled engineering procurement.Strong knowledge of procurement for fabricated steel, piping, mechanical equipment, electrical items, marine systems, machinery, and project materials.Experience in local and international sourcing, vendor development, and contract negotiations.Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Focus ERP, or equivalent.Excellent negotiation, commercial, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred ProfileProven experience handling high-value engineering procurement projects.Strong understanding of supply chain planning and inventory optimization.Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with multiple stakeholders.
