The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing and procuring feed, equipment, tools, and other farm-related supplies, ensuring consistent availability of materials at competitive prices. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing, placing purchase orders, and monitoring delivery schedules. The role involves maintaining accurate purchasing records, tracking inventory levels in coordination with farm operations, and resolving any issues related to supply quality or delays. The Purchasing Manager collaborates with farm management to forecast procurement needs, adheres to company policies and budget guidelines, and supports continuous improvement of purchasing processes.QualificationsDemonstrated experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in agriculture, farming, or related industries.Strong skills in vendor identification, evaluation, negotiation, and relationship management.Ability to manage purchase orders, inventory tracking, and basic budgeting or cost analysis.Proficiency in using spreadsheets and basic business software for documentation and reporting.Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with farm operations and external suppliers.Ability to work on-site in Dehradun and visit local markets or suppliers as needed.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
