Purchasing Manager

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Purchase Manager to lead procurement operations for a fast-growing chemical manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in sourcing chemical raw materials, vendor management, SAP-based procurement, inventory control, and supply chain coordination. This role is critical in ensuring uninterrupted production through efficient procurement strategies, cost optimization, and supplier relationship management.Key Responsibilities :Manage end-to-end procurement of chemical raw materials, intermediates, additives, solvents, and packaging materials from domestic and international suppliers.Develop, evaluate, and maintain strategic relationships with principal suppliers and chemical vendors.Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and supply agreements to achieve cost efficiencies and ensure uninterrupted material availability.Monitor market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and supply risks within the chemical industry.Coordinate effectively with Production, Planning, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Warehouse teams for timely material availability.Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase requisitions and purchase orders through SAP.Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs and avoiding stock-outs.Identify and implement procurement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.Resolve supplier-related issues pertaining to quality, delivery, compliance, and performance.Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and relevant regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements applicable to the chemical industry.Conduct periodic supplier evaluations and performance reviews to maintain a reliable vendor base.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.8-12 years of procurement experience, preferably within the Chemical, Specialty Chemicals, Petrochemical, Paints, Coatings, Adhesives, or Allied Manufacturing industries.Strong understanding of chemical raw materials sourcing and procurement processes.Proven experience in SAP procurement modules.Expertise in vendor development, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Key Competencies:Raw Material Procurement (Chemicals)Strategic Sourcing & Vendor ManagementSAP Procurement & Material ManagementInventory & Supply Chain OptimizationCost Reduction & Contract NegotiationSupplier Risk ManagementCross-functional CoordinationMarket Intelligence & Price Trend Analysis.
