PURCHASING MANAGER | NYC | UP TO $165K with performance bonus eligibilityGH Engage is partnered with a well-established NYC General Contractor & Real Estate Developer that is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to take ownership of its contractor buyout and procurement function- A genuinely exciting construction procurement role with a lot of influenceYou’ll be responsible for helping determine who the business works with, fostering and developing key relationships, what they pay, and the terms under which the work is delivered across its residential construction and redevelopment projects.This means taking major trade packages including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, concrete, steel, finishes to the subcontractor market, analysing competing bids, challenging scope and exclusions, negotiating commercial terms and ultimately helping award the work to the right contractor.The opportunityYou’ll work directly with Project Executives, Project Managers and the wider operations team, with genuine influence over how projects are bought out.Your remit will include but not be limited to:

• Leading pre-bid and post-bid procurement activity
• Developing and challenging scopes of work
• Reading drawings and specifications
• Soliciting, analysing and negotiating subcontractor bids
• Evaluating contractor capability, pricing, scope and risk
• Managing subcontractor selection and award
• Preparing and executing contracts, POs and amendments
• Building and maintaining relationships across the NYC subcontractor market
• Developing relationships with relevant subcontractors and trades
