Position: Purchasing Manager

Location: Farmingdale, NY (In Office)Salary: $100k – $115kNational Distribution firm seeks a Category Purchasing Manger to join their TeamResponsibilitiesA buyer will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: inventory analysis, price book management, marketing, alternative markets, and negotiating with vendorsMUST have experience purchasing grocery items, specially produce and perishables.Manages all purchasing activitiesDirect interaction with all departments within the company, as well as with key customersAnalyze changes or new issues in materials and supplies to find ways to reduce costs and improve qualityReceive orders and grants approval for purchases of goods and servicesRely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsRequirementsFinance experience / pricing evaluation / retail cost analysis /gross profit margin knowledge a plusPrior experience in procurement of CPG products requiredC-Store (convenient store) experience is a plusStrong Analytical Skills and Negotiating SkillsMust be highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs
