🏗️ PURCHASING MANAGER | STRUCTURAL STEEL 📍 Pennsylvania 💰 Approximately $130,000–$160,000 base salaryReady to take greater ownership of procurement?We’re recruiting for a growing steel fabrication and industrial construction business with an immediate requirement for an experienced Purchasing Manager.This role covers procurement and logistics across both fabrication and construction operations, combining day-to-day purchasing with the opportunity to improve systems, supplier relationships and commercial control.The opportunityYou’ll work alongside an established Purchasing Manager as part of a planned succession, learning the supplier network and existing processes before eventually taking full ownership of the function.The business values long-term supplier partnerships, dependable service and commercial judgement.Your responsibilitiesManage procurement supporting approximately 15,000 tons of steel annually.Purchase raw steel, fabricated materials, piping, fittings, coatings, and shop and site consumables.Manage procurement of scaffolding and major subcontracted services.Coordinate logistics across fabrication shops and construction projects.Develop supplier relationships and negotiate commercially sound agreements.Improve purchasing systems, processes and controls across multiple business divisions.Work with Tekla EPM for structural material purchasing and Spectrum ERP for wider procurement.What we’re looking forStrong procurement experience within steel fabrication, heavy industry or industrial construction.Experience managing logistics and subcontract procurement.Strong organisational skills and a structured approach to purchasing.Commercial judgement that considers cost, quality, delivery and supplier reliability.Confidence challenging existing processes and implementing improvements.Willingness to handle day-to-day material issues alongside strategic responsibilities.The capability to eventually lead the entire purchasing function.Why consider it?This is an opportunity to influence how a growing business buys, moves and manages materials, with a planned handover and a clear route to ownership of the purchasing function.Interested?
