PYP Homeroom Teacher

Position: PYP Homeroom Teacher (Primary Years Programme)Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning experiences aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework.Serve as the primary teacher responsible for the overall academic, social, emotional, and personal development of students in the assigned class.Facilitate inquiry-based, concept-driven, and transdisciplinary learning.Develop students' literacy, numeracy, research, communication, self-management, social, and thinking skills.Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student agency and international-mindedness.Assess, monitor, and document student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies.Maintain student portfolios, progress records, report cards, and learning documentation.Collaborate with specialist teachers, coordinators, and support staff to enhance student learning outcomes.Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, wellbeing, and development.Organize and participate in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, field trips, and co-curricular activities.Integrate technology effectively to support teaching and learning.Participate actively in curriculum planning, professional development, and school improvement initiatives.QualificationsGraduate OR Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant subject area.B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.PYP training/certification preferred.Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in primary grades, preferably in an IB, Cambridge, or international school.Excellent English communication and ICT skills.Desired CompetenciesStrong understanding of inquiry-based and student-centered learning.Knowledge of the PYP Learner Profile, Approaches to Learning (ATL), and transdisciplinary themes.Effective classroom management and relationship-building skills.Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.Strong collaboration, planning, and organizational abilities.Commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Student academic progress and holistic development.Effective implementation of the PYP curriculum and inquiry process.Quality of classroom environment and student engagement.Timely completion of assessments, reports, and documentation.Parent satisfaction and communication effectiveness.Contribution to school activities, exhibitions, and professional learning communities.Other Details:Location - Worli, South MumbaiFull Time Role
