Python / Django & AI Developer

Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Python, Django, and AI Developer to support the development, enhancement, and integration of enterprise healthcare applications. The candidate will work on healthcare system integrations, radiology workflow automation, AI-assisted tools, dashboards, APIs, and secure web-based platforms.The role requires strong backend development experience, good understanding of healthcare IT workflows, and the ability to build reliable, secure, and scalable solutions. Key ResponsibilitiesBackend DevelopmentDevelop, maintain, and enhance web applications using Python and Django.Build REST APIs using Django REST Framework.Design and manage database models, migrations, and business logic.Develop secure, scalable, and production-ready backend services.Troubleshoot and optimize application performance.Healthcare Application DevelopmentSupport the development and enhancement of healthcare workflow applications.Build modules related to order management, reporting, integration logs, workflow monitoring, and operational dashboards.Develop tools for message tracking, error handling, audit trails, and system monitoring.Support role-based access control and user permission management.AI DevelopmentDevelop AI-assisted features for workflow optimization and decision support.Work on AI models, prompts, and automation logic for:Workflow prioritizationData analysis and predictionOperational automationIntegrate AI services using cloud or on-premise models such as:Azure AI FoundryOpenAI APIsLLaMAOllamavLLMBuild safe AI workflows with proper validation, auditability, and human review.Healthcare IntegrationWork with healthcare data standards such as:HL7DICOMModality WorklistREST APIsMLLPSupport integration workflows between HIS, RIS, PACS, EMPI, reporting systems, and other healthcare platforms.Understand patient, order, accession, study, and report lifecycle workflows.Database and Data ManagementWork with PostgreSQL and relational database design.Write optimized queries and maintain data integrity.Support audit logging, reporting, reconciliation, and data validation.Handle sensitive healthcare data securely and in compliance with organizational policies.Deployment and SupportSupport deployment on Windows or Linux servers.Work with GitHub, version control, and release management.Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support.Document technical designs, APIs, workflows, and support procedures. Required Technical SkillsStrong experience with Python.Strong experience with Django.Experience with Django REST Framework.Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.Good understanding of REST API design.Experience with Git and GitHub.Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or frontend frameworks is a plus.Experience with background jobs, scheduled tasks, or message queues is preferred.Ability to read logs, debug issues, and optimize performance. AI / Machine Learning SkillsExperience with AI APIs or machine learning frameworks.Understanding of NLP, prompt engineering, and LLM integration.Experience with tools such as OpenAI, Azure AI, LLaMA, Ollama, or vLLM is preferred.Ability to design AI workflows with human review and validation.Understanding of data privacy and safe AI usage in healthcare. Healthcare IT KnowledgePreferred experience or knowledge in:Radiology Information SystemsPACSEPIC RadiantGE RIS/PACSHL7 ADT, ORM, ORU, ORR messagesDICOM and Modality WorklistEMPI workflowsRadiology reporting systemsHealthcare integration engines such as Mirth Connect Soft SkillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work with clinical, technical, and vendor teams.Good communication and documentation skills.Ability to understand healthcare workflows and convert them into technical solutions.Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.Attention to detail, especially when working with patient data and integration workflows. Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Python/Django development.Experience in healthcare IT or radiology systems is highly preferred.Experience in AI development or AI integration is an advantage.
