As we pursue this goal, we are implementing a data-driven business model that fundamentally reshapes how insurance products are sold.About the RoleWe are looking for a QA Engineer to build and execute test coverage across our platform, working within the frameworks and standards set by our QA Architect. This role owns test planning and execution for features end to end, and is a core contributor to our automation suite. This role is 100% on-site at our corporate Headquarters in New York City.Key ResponsibilitiesWrite and maintain automated tests across frontend, backend, and API layersDesign and execute test plans for new features and releasesIdentify, document, and track defects through resolutionExtend and maintain existing test automation frameworksPerform manual testing where automation isn't yet in place or doesn't fitCollaborate with engineers on testability of new featuresMaintain and troubleshoot CI/CD test pipelinesContribute to test data management across environmentsFlag gaps in test coverage and quality process to the QA ArchitectQualifications2-4 years of QA experience, including test automationWorking knowledge of our tech stack:Frontend: React, TypeScriptBackend: Python, FlaskDatabases: MySQL, MongoDB, Neo4jTesting: PyTest, Jest, Selenium, CypressExperience writing and maintaining automated test suitesComfortable with API testing, frontend testing, and basic database testingExperience working within CI/CD pipelinesClear written communication for bug reports and test documentationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldNice to HaveExposure to performance or security testingCloud environment experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with GraphQL testingExperience testing containerized or microservices-based applicationsNote to All Applicants: Portra is committed to providing reasonable support (called accommodations) in our recruiting processes for candidates with disabilities, long term conditions, mental health conditions, or sincerely held religious beliefs, or who are neurodivergent or require pregnancy-related support.
