Job Title: QA/QC EngineerIndustry: Aluminum Fabrication / Façade / Curtain Wall / Glazing ·  Job PurposeResponsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control procedures for aluminum fabrication and façade works, ensuring that all materials, fabrication processes, finished products, and site installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, approved samples, method statements, and applicable standards. ·  Key Responsibilities1. Quality Control – FactoryInspect incoming raw materials, including aluminum profiles, sheets, ACP, glass, hardware, gaskets, sealants, and accessories.Verify material certificates, specifications, dimensions, finishes, and approved sources.Conduct inspections at all stages of fabrication, including cutting, CNC machining, punching, drilling, assembly, crimping, glazing, sealing, and finishing.Check aluminum profiles and components against approved shop drawings and fabrication drawings.Verify critical dimensions, tolerances, alignment, squareness, surface finish, and workmanship.Inspect powder coating, anodizing, PVDF, and other finishing works for color, thickness, appearance, adhesion, and defects.Monitor glass processing and installation, including dimensions, thickness, type, edge quality, and visual defects.Ensure correct installation of gaskets, setting blocks, sealants, fasteners, brackets, thermal breaks, and other accessories.Perform final inspection before packing and dispatch to site.Prepare and maintain inspection records, checklists, inspection reports, and NCRs.   2. Project / Site Quality ControlReview approved shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and project specifications.Coordinate with site engineers and project teams to ensure proper installation and quality requirements are understood.Conduct site inspections for curtain wall, windows, doors, glazing, ACP, aluminum cladding, louvers, and other façade systems.Verify installation dimensions, levels, plumbness, alignment, fixing, sealant application, and interfaces with other trades.Monitor mock-ups and ensure approved mock-up standards are maintained during production and installation.Coordinate testing and inspections such as water penetration, air leakage, structural performance, sealant adhesion, and other project-required tests.Raise and close NCRs and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented. 3. QA/QC DocumentationPrepare and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).Prepare Inspection Request (IR/WIR) documentation where required.Maintain material inspection records and material certificates.Prepare inspection and testing reports.Maintain calibration records for measuring and testing equipment.Track NCRs, corrective actions, and preventive actions.Maintain project quality records and ensure proper document control.Prepare quality reports and provide regular updates to management. 4. CoordinationCoordinate with Production, Technical Office, Procurement, Project Management, and Site teams.Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and third-party testing agencies.Communicate quality requirements to production and installation teams.Participate in quality meetings and technical discussions.Support the Operations Manager in resolving quality-related production and site issues.  5. Continuous ImprovementIdentify recurring fabrication and installation defects and recommend corrective actions.Analyze NCRs and quality issues to identify root causes.Develop inspection checklists and quality procedures.Conduct quality awareness and toolbox training for production and site personnel.Improve manufacturing and installation processes to reduce rework, material wastage, and project delays. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.3–7 years of QA/QC experience, preferably in aluminum, façade, curtain wall, glazing, ACP, or architectural metal works.Strong knowledge of aluminum fabrication and façade installation.Good understanding of shop drawings, material specifications, and project requirements.Knowledge of relevant international standards and project specifications.Good knowledge of inspection procedures, ITPs, NCRs, and quality documentation.Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, levels, measuring tapes, and coating thickness gauges. Preferred CertificationsISO 9001 Quality Management System.CSWIP / welding inspection certification where applicable.NDT certification where applicable.Internal Auditor certification.Relevant façade, glazing, or sealant testing experience. Technical SkillsAluminum fabrication and assembly inspection.Curtain wall and façade systems.ACP and aluminum cladding.Doors and windows.Structural and architectural glazing.Powder coating / PVDF / anodizing.Sealant and waterproofing inspection.Dimensional inspection and tolerance control.Reading architectural and fabrication drawings.Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action.MS Excel and quality documentation systems.
