QA Tester - HRMS (short-term contract)

Role SummaryAbout the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced SaaS Software Web Application Tester (Software Test Engineer) to join our team on a freelance contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, security, and reliability of both SaaS and Mobile Applications through comprehensive testing strategies, automation, and performance validation.The successful candidate should have hands-on experience in functional and nonfunctional testing, API testing, test case creation and execution, security testing, performance testing, and automation testing using industry-standard tools.Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional & Manual TestingAnalyze business and technical requirements and prepare comprehensive test plans and test cases.Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and user acceptance testing.Identify, document, track, and verify defects through to resolution.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure product quality.API TestingDesign and execute API test scenarios.Validate request/response structures, business logic, authentication, and integrations.Perform end-to-end API testing and troubleshoot integration issues.Automation TestingDevelop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.Improve test coverage and optimize automation frameworks.Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines where applicable.Performance & Load TestingConduct performance, stress, load, and scalability testing.Analyze bottlenecks and provide recommendations for optimization.Monitor and validate system performance under varying workloads.Security TestingPerform basic application security testing and vulnerability assessments.Validate authentication, authorization, session management, and API security controls.Work with development teams to address identified security risks.Mobile Application TestingTest native and/or cross-platform mobile applications across Android and iOS devices.Validate functionality, usability, compatibility, and performance across multiple devices and operating system versions.Technical SkillsRequired Skills & Experience3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.Strong experience in API Testing.Strong experience in functional and nonfunctional testingExperience creating and executing detailed test cases and test scenarios.Hands-on experience with:SeleniumJMeterGrafanaPostman or similar API testing toolsTest management and bug tracking toolsExperience in performance and load testing.Experience in security testing methodologies and best practices.Understanding of CI/CD processes and Agile development methodologies.Application Testing ExperienceExperience testing SaaS applications.Experience testing Mobile Applications (Android and iOS).Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS application.Knowledge of Postgres and database testing.Experience with monitoring and observability tools.What We're Looking ForA proactive professional who can independently plan, execute, automate, and report on testing activities while ensuring high-quality releases across the web, SaaS, API, and mobile platforms.
