QC Laboratory Technologist The Longevity Cell Bank, Cord Blood Bank ServiceWhat you'll doReceive and register in-process, final product and maternal samples, checking identity, labels and chain of custodySend samples for outsourced testing (e.g. maternal IDM, HLA typing) and track resultsTest cord blood units: TNC and differential counts, CD34+ and viability by flow cytometry (ISHAGE, 7-AAD), CFU assays, ABO/Rh grouping, and bacterial and fungal sterilityRun post-thaw potency and viability tests on reference segments when requiredCarry out environmental and personnel monitoring: particle counts, air sampling, settle and contact plates, glove and gown plates, and reading and identifying isolatesRun IQC before testing, take part in EQA/PT schemes, and maintain and calibrate lab equipmentPrepare and qualify reagents and culture media, including growth promotion testingRecord data contemporaneously (ALCOA+), prepare Certificates of Analysis for QC review and QA release, and support EM trendingReport any OOS result, deviation or EM excursion immediately. Never repeat a test without an approved OOS investigationSupport IQ/OQ/PQ, method validation, audits and MOH/AABB inspectionsWhat we're looking forBachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biomedical Science or equivalentOman MOH professional licence (or eligibility to obtain one)At least 2 years in a clinical, blood bank or QC laboratorySkills with haematology analysers, microscopy and basic microbiologyAseptic technique and an understanding of IQC and EQAGood English, plus LIMS and spreadsheet skillsNice to haveStem cell / cord blood QC experience in an AABB-, FACT- or ISO 15189-accredited labFlow cytometry (ISHAGE CD34+), CFU assay and BacT/ALERT sterility system experienceCleanroom EM sampling experience (EU GMP Annex 1 / ISO 14644)ASCP (MLS/MB) or equivalent certification, or a postgraduate qualificationEnglish & Arabic (spoken and written)
