The QC Manager – Civil will be responsible for leading and managing all Quality Control activities across major high-rise, mixed-use, and mega civil construction projects.The role requires an experienced construction quality professional with a strong background in main contracting, capable of managing complex structural, architectural, finishing, and civil works while ensuring full compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, client requirements, authority standards, and applicable international codes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all civil Quality Control activities across the project.Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Control Plan in coordination with the QA/QC Manager and Project Management team.Ensure all construction activities comply with:Contract specifications.Approved IFC drawings.Approved material submittals.Method Statements.Inspection and Test Plans.Client and consultant requirements.Applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements.Manage quality control for major construction activities including:Piling and foundation works.Shoring and excavation.Reinforced concrete works.Post-tensioning works.Structural steel works.Waterproofing.Blockwork and plastering.Façade and external envelope.Architectural finishes.Flooring and tiling.Joinery and fit-out works.Roofing systems.Roads and external civil works.Landscaping interface works.Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans, Method Statements, checklists, and inspection procedures.Ensure all Request for Inspections are properly raised, coordinated, and closed within required timelines.Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, third-party inspection agencies, and project teams.Ensure inspection records, test reports, approvals, certificates, and supporting quality documents are properly maintained.Monitor incoming materials and ensure compliance with approved Material Submittals and project specifications.Ensure material inspections are completed before installation or use on site.Monitor concrete quality including:Concrete mix approvals.Trial mixes.Slump testing.Cube testing.Concrete temperature.Pour inspections.Concrete repair procedures.Coordinate with approved laboratories for material testing and third-party testing requirements.Review test results and ensure all non-conforming results are properly investigated and addressed.Raise, review, and manage Non-Conformance Reports.Perform root-cause analysis for recurring quality issues.Develop corrective and preventive action plans and ensure timely closure.Maintain and monitor NCR logs, inspection status, material inspection status, and quality observations.Conduct internal quality inspections and periodic site quality audits.Identify workmanship deficiencies and ensure corrective action is taken before consultant inspection.Establish quality benchmarks, mock-ups, and sample approvals for architectural and finishing works.Ensure approved mock-ups are maintained as quality standards throughout project execution.Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure subcontractors comply with project quality requirements.Evaluate subcontractor quality performance and recommend corrective measures when required.Review subcontractor quality plans, ITPs, method statements, and quality documentation.Coordinate closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Technical Teams, Planning, Procurement, HSE, and MEP teams.Participate in coordination meetings, quality meetings, progress meetings, and client/consultant meetings.Prepare weekly and monthly Quality Control reports for Project Management and senior management.Monitor quality KPIs and report trends, recurring defects, and areas requiring management attention.Ensure snags and defects are identified, recorded, rectified, inspected, and closed.Manage quality activities during testing, commissioning interfaces, project handover, and close-out.Coordinate preparation and submission of:As-built records.Inspection records.Material approvals.Testing certificates.Warranty documents.Quality dossiers.Handover documentation.Support final authority, consultant, and client inspections.Ensure lessons learned are documented and communicated to relevant teams.Promote a strong quality culture across the project and encourage a “right-first-time” approach.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.Professional quality certification such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor is highly preferred.Additional certifications in construction quality management will be advantageous.ExperienceMinimum 15 years of experience in construction quality control.Minimum 5 years in a QC Manager / Senior Quality role on major construction projects.Proven experience in high-rise buildings and mega civil projects is mandatory.Strong experience working with a reputable Main Contractor / Tier-1 Contractor is essential.Extensive experience in large-scale residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, or landmark developments.Strong exposure to projects involving:High-rise towers.Large concrete structures.Deep basements.Complex architectural finishes.Façade systems.Infrastructure and external civil works.UAE or GCC experience is strongly preferred.Experience dealing with major consultants, clients, authorities, and third-party inspection agencies.Experience managing large QC teams across multiple work fronts.Technical CompetenciesStrong knowledge of civil construction methodology.Excellent understanding of structural concrete works.Strong knowledge of architectural and finishing quality requirements.Familiarity with relevant codes and standards including:ACI.ASTM.BS / EN Standards.Local authority requirements.Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.Excellent knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans.Strong understanding of material testing and laboratory requirements.Experience in NCR management and root-cause analysis.Strong knowledge of concrete testing, repair, and defect rectification.Excellent understanding of waterproofing and façade quality requirements.Strong knowledge of project handover and close-out processes.Leadership CompetenciesStrong leadership and team
