Established in 2010, the agency has grown into a preferred research partner for leading blue chip Sri Lankan and global brands, offering exposure to high-impact projects and diverse industries.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Qualitative Researcher role based in the Colombo District. The Qualitative Researcher will design and execute qualitative research studies, including focus groups, in-depth interviews, and ethnographic or observational research, to uncover deeper consumer and stakeholder insights. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing research proposals, discussion guides, and sampling plans; moderating sessions; and ensuring high-quality data collection. The role involves analyzing qualitative data, identifying themes and patterns, and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for clients. The Qualitative Researcher will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients, prepare reports and presentations, and contribute to innovative research approaches that enhance Breakthrough’s service offerings.QualificationsStrong qualitative research skills, including experience with focus groups, in-depth interviews, and thematic analysis.Proficiency in research design, sampling, data collection planning, and development of discussion guides or interview protocols.Ability to synthesize findings and prepare clear, compelling research reports and client presentations.Knowledge of marketing research principles and an understanding of consumer behavior and brand strategy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to moderate discussions and build rapport with diverse participants.High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and a structured approach to problem-solving.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Business, or a related field.Ability to work on-site in the Colombo District, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.Prior experience in a marketing research agency or insights role is preferred; familiarity with qualitative analysis software is a plus.
