Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (Data Quality)

We are seeking a QA Engineer with a strong automation-first mindset and hands-on experience testing web applications, APIs, anddata/analytics systems. This role is ideal for someone whoenjoys working close to the code, understands distributed systems, and thinks holistically about quality across the application, data, and reporting layers.You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Analytics, and DevOps teams to ensure that features are delivered with high functionalcorrectness, system reliability, and data integrity.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Quality Ownership & Functional Testing : Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams to understand requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and define test strategies early in the development lifecycle.Establish and maintain QA standards, processes, and best practices for consistent quality across teams.Validate that delivered features meet functional, non-functional, and business requirements with a strong focus on usability and reliability.Analyze test results to identify defects, behavioral risks, and edge cases, and recommend preventive solutions.Track and report quality metrics such as defect leakage, automation coverage, release readiness, and data accuracy.Proactively identify risks and challenges within a sprint and propose remediation or process improvements.Drive assigned initiatives independently, with a strong sense of ownership.Test Automation & Engineering :Design, implement, execute, and maintain automated and manual test cases across web, API, and backend systems.Build and maintain a robust automation suite that is used consistently across releases.Drive in-sprint automation, ensuring that new features are automated as part of development rather than post-release.Partner with developers to improve testability, observability, and environment stability.Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous deliveryData & Analytics Quality Assurance (Explicit Focus) :Basic validation of data flows between source systems and reports or dashboards.Verify correctness of key data fields in reports and analytics views.Perform simple data checks by comparing source data with reporting outputs (OLTP databases, payment gateways, CRMsystems like HubSpot) and downstream analytics platforms.Validate reports, dashboards and metrics for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.Identify and help prevent common analytics issues such as data drift, duplication, late-arriving data and broken joins.Collaborate with developers and analysts to clarify data-related test scenarios.Hands-on experience in writing SQL queries with joins for data validation and testingNon-Functional Testing :Execute and guide performance, reliability, and basic security testing.Validate system behavior under load, stress, and failure scenarios.Work with Engineering and DevOps teams to identify and mitigate production risks early.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:5-7 years of hands-on experience in software quality engineeringStrong experience testing modern web applications and APIsExperience testing data-intensive or analytics-driven systems is requiredMobile application testing experience is a plusAutomation & Programming :Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, C#, or PythonHands-on experience with automation frameworks: Selenium and Appium for Mobile automationStrong understanding of automation design patterns and best practicesHands-on use of AI-assisted tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) for test design, automation or analysisTechnical Stack Exposure (Preferred):RESTful APIs and microservices-based architecturesRelational databases and SQL (advanced querying for validation)Cloud-based environments (AWS preferred)CI/CD pipelines and version control systemsWhat Success Looks Like at SilvermineDefects are caught early, not in productionAutomation is reliable, fast, and meaningfulData and reports are trusted by business and leadershipQA is a partner in engineering, not a downstream functionYou influence how quality is built, measured, and sustainedWhy Join SilvermineWork on real-world, business-critical systems with meaningful impactOpportunity to shape QA strategy across application and data platformsCollaborative culture that values ownership, accountability, and continuous improvementClear growth path toward technical leadership or QA platform ownershipPERKS OF JOINING:-The Culture: most companies talk about their values, we live them.
