Company Description Xantory’s Sentinel platform runs vertical-farming operations end to end: climate and water control, production planning, workforce, warehouse, procurement and the connected B2B shop. As Sentinel moves toward production, every release has to be dependable for the farms, teams and customers who rely on it.The QA Engineer will own product quality across Sentinel and help establish the QA process from the ground up. The main focus of the role is to run the test gate between Staging and Production, plan and execute testing across every module, lead integration and acceptance testing, and introduce automation and performance testing as the platform matures.Key Responsibilities● Own the test gate between Staging and Production.● Track and triage bugs, verify fixes, and sign off each release before it is promoted to production.● Help define the team’s task-workflow states and the criteria for moving work between them.● Design and execute test plans and test cases against the functional requirements register, across all Xantory projects.● Perform manual, functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing across every module.● Validate the Workforce offline handheld PWA and the QR/scan workflows.● Lead integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), confirming that modules work together end to end before release.● Run smoke and sanity checks on each build promoted to Staging, so issues are caught before full test cycles begin.● Introduce automated regression testing where it earns its keep and grow coverage release by release.● Support regression and load/performance testing ahead of each release.Qualifications & Experience● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.● Minimum 2–4 years of QA / test engineering experience (manual and automated), ideally on SaaS, IoT or ERP-style systems.● Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and defining test gates between Dev, Staging and Production.● Experience testing IoT / sensor-driven systems, such as climate/water control, dosing and connected device fleets, is an advantage.● Background in agritech, vertical farming, warehouse or logistics domains is an advantage.Skills & Competencies● Strong grounding across testing types: functional, regression, integration, UAT, smoke/sanity, exploratory and load/performance testing.● Willingness to pick up IoT / edge testing basics (sensor and device workflows).● Strong bug-triage and root-cause instincts, with clear, concise written reporting; this team moves fast.● Experience using AI assistants such as Claude to speed up test-case design, exploratory testing or bug write-ups is an advantage.● Experience with AI / vision-based testing, such as computer-vision-driven visual regression and UI checks, is an advantage.● Comfortable joining a small, largely newly formed engineering team and helping build QA process from the ground up, not just following an existing one.
