Quality Assurance Inspector

About the RoleA large concrete construction company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support one of New York City's most high-profile construction projects. This individual will work alongside experienced quality and project teams to ensure all materials, installations, and project activities meet strict quality, safety, and sustainability standards. This position is ideal for a recent engineering or construction management graduate who is passionate about how things are built and wants to develop a long-term career in heavy civil/commercial construction.ResponsibilitiesSupport quality assurance and quality control efforts on a large-scale commercial construction project valued at approximately $300M.Assist in verifying incoming construction materials, including rebar, steel, concrete, and related components, ensuring deliveries match project specifications and approved drawings.Review material certifications, delivery tickets, test reports, and quality documentation for completeness and compliance.Maintain tracking logs and reporting systems to monitor quality status, inspections, material approvals, and field observations.Coordinate with inspectors, field engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality requirements are understood and followed.Observe field activities and installations to verify construction work is performed according to project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.Support documentation of non-conforming materials or work and assist with corrective action tracking.Monitor and document sustainability and LEED-related quality requirements throughout project execution.Participate in site walks, inspections, and meetings to identify quality risks and opportunities for improvement.Learn quality processes, procedures, and standards through hands-on training and mentorship from senior team members.Assist in creating status reports and visual tracking tools to communicate project quality metrics to leadership.Required SkillsStrong interest in construction, engineering, and how complex projects are built.Internship, co-op, field experience, or hands-on exposure within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments.Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to identify inconsistencies and ensure compliance with specifications.Comfortable working primarily on active construction sites and in jobsite trailer environments.Preferred SkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.Exposure to concrete, steel, structural, civil, or commercial construction projects.Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals.
