Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in driving the quality, reliability, and security of our web, mobile, and backend platforms.You will work closely with Software Engineers, Business Analysts, and Product Managers across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)—from refining business requirements and drafting comprehensive test suites to executing automated tests and validating enterprise-level business logic.Key Responsibilities

• Test Strategy & Design: Analyze functional specs, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to design structured test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases.
• Test Execution: Perform thorough functional, system integration, regression, smoke, and edge-case testing across web, mobile, and API interfaces.
• Automation Engineering: Maintain and expand automated test suites (UI and API) to accelerate release cycles and integrate quality checks into continuous delivery pipelines.
• API & Integration Testing: Conduct backend testing (RESTful/GraphQL APIs) to validate system contracts, payload schemas, business logic rules, and error handling.
• Defect Management: Identify, log, prioritize, and track bugs through to resolution using tools like Jira, ensuring clear steps to reproduce and actionable evidence for developers.
• Quality Governance: Advocate for QA best practices within cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams, participating actively in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and post-mortems.Qualifications & SkillsRequired:
• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a QA Engineer, Software Test Engineer, or similar role.
• Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes across the full STLC.
• API Testing: Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman.
• Test Automation: Familiarity or practical experience with modern automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium in Python/JavaScript/TypeScript/Java).
• Database Querying: Proficiency in writing SQL queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL) to perform backend data validation and setup test data state.
• Agile Tooling: Experience using Jira (or similar ALM tools) for defect tracking, sprint boards, and requirement traceability.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to translate complex technical issues into actionable bug reports.Desirable / Bonus Points:
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) or containerized environments (Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) for automated test execution.
