Quality Assurance Quality Control Inspector - Waterproofing

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Inspector with a strong background in waterproofing to inspect and monitor waterproofing works across our building construction projects. You will make sure all waterproofing systems in substructures, wet areas, roofs and other critical areas are installed to approved specifications, manufacturer requirements and UAE authority standards. The aim is long-term durability and no water ingress.

Responsibilities

Inspect and monitor all waterproofing works, including: substructure and basement areas (membranes, tanking, protection boards),wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens, balconies and plant rooms), roofs, podiums, terraces and other applicable areas.Review and verify method statements, material submittals, shop drawings and inspection & test plans (ITPs) for waterproofing works.Check surface preparation before application, including substrate condition, moisture levels, priming, curing and cleanliness.Verify that approved materials are used and installed according to manufacturer specifications and the approved system details.Witness and record flood tests, water ponding tests, adhesion tests and other quality tests, and keep test records.Inspect critical detailing such as joints, laps, upturns, drains, penetrations, expansion joints and terminations.Carry out inspections against Inspection Requests (IRs) / Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and keep inspection logs up to date.Coordinate with the contractor’s QA/QC team, subcontractors, material suppliers and manufacturer representatives.Inspect incoming waterproofing materials, including storage conditions, shelf life, batch numbers and certifications.Check that waterproofing works are protected before subsequent trades start, so the system is not damaged.Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports and quality progress updates for the QA/QC Manager / Resident Engineer.Support handover documentation, including warranties, test certificates and as-built records for waterproofing systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.At least 8 years of QA/QC experience, with substantial hands-on experience inspecting waterproofing works.Proven experience on building construction projects in the UAE, including residential, commercial or high-rise.Preferred: experience with a consultant or supervision firm.Strong knowledge of waterproofing systems, such as: bituminous and torch-applied membranes, liquid-applied and cementitious waterproofing, PVC / TPO / HDPE membranes and polyurethane coatingsFamiliar with flood testing procedures, ITPs, NCR processes and quality documentation.Good understanding of Dubai Municipality regulations and UAE construction standards.
