Quality Assurance Team Lead

Company DescriptionLambda.Global is hiring on behalf of our client, a technology company that is part of one of Mongolia’s leading holding groups. The company develops and runs the systems for every company in the group, and it is preparing to launch several new products.Role DescriptionThe QA Team Lead is a full-time role based in Ulaanbaatar, with flexible working hours and 2 remote days per month. You will lead a team of 3 QA engineers and own the quality of the company’s products and projects.Your main goal is to move QA from mostly manual testing to test automation. This means setting the automation strategy and roadmap, choosing the right framework and tools, and integrating automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.Key responsibilities:Define the QA and testing strategy, standards and processes, and lead their implementationSet the test plan, scope, approach, entry/exit criteria and release readiness for each product, based on its requirements and risksManage the QA team’s daily work, assign tasks, track performance, and mentor team membersLead defect management and root cause analysis to prevent recurring issuesDefine and track QA metrics and KPIs, and report on test results, defect trends and quality risksWork with developers, product/project managers and DevOps to build quality in from the start of the development lifecycleFind the right balance between manual and automated testing to improve regression efficiency, test coverage and release reliabilityRegularly review QA processes, methods and tools, and drive continuous improvementBuild the team’s automation skills and modern testing practices to create a scalable, sustainable QA capabilityResearch new testing technologies, AI-assisted testing and industry best practices, and introduce the ones that fit the companyQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field5+ years of experience in software QA/testing, including experience at Senior or Lead levelHands-on experience building a test automation framework from scratch or significantly expanding oneStrong experience in web and API test automationAdvanced, hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or a similar frameworkAbility to write code in at least one automation language, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python or C#Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or similar)Ability to design test architecture and build maintainable, scalable automation solutionsGood knowledge of integration, end-to-end and SQL/database testingExperience working in Agile/Scrum and CI/CD environmentsTechnical leadership and mentoring skills, strong ownership, and analytical problem-solvingNice to haveExperience moving a manual-heavy QA process to automationUnderstanding of performance and security testingInterest in AI-assisted testing tools and modern QA technologyHow to applyApply through LinkedIn or send your CV to ganchimeg@lambda.global.
