Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob SummaryLead the Quality Engineering function to establish and maintain robust manufacturing quality systems, strengthen defect prevention, improve process capability, and drive continuous quality improvement across plant operations. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Stellantis Global Quality Standards, IATF 16949 and customer requirements, while supporting new model launches and developing a strong quality culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop the Quality Engineering team to achieve plant quality objectives and business targets.Establish and monitor quality KPIs and improvement plans aligned with plant and regional quality strategies.Ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet Stellantis quality standards and customer specifications.Drive defect prevention and improvement initiatives to reduce internal defects, rework, scrap and customer complaints.Lead structured problem-solving and root cause analysis for major quality issues using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, A3 and other appropriate methodologies.Ensure timely implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Lead quality planning for new model launches, engineering changes and localization projects, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans and production validation.Oversee Incoming Quality and Supplier Quality activities and drive improvements in supplier quality performance.Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Stellantis Global Quality Standards and customer-specific requirements.Lead internal quality audits, Layered Process Audits (LPA) and support external certification/customer audits.Monitor key quality indicators including cDPV, FTQ, FPY, PPM, warranty performance and customer complaints.Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction initiatives.Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Product Engineering and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues.Ensure Quality Engineering activities comply with company safety, environmental and applicable Malaysian regulatory requirements.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.Relevant experience in Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Quality within the automotive manufacturing industry.Strong knowledge of automotive quality systems and tools, including IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan and structured problem-solving methodologies.Proven experience in manufacturing quality, defect prevention, process improvement and new product/model launches.Strong leadership and people-development capability, with experience leading engineering teams.Strong analytical, root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.Effective communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.Strong customer focus with the ability to drive quality improvement and operational excellence.
