Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are hiring for Quality Lab Technician in Liwa (UAE)Job PurposeThe Quality Lab Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory testing and quality control inspections on sand products to ensure compliance with company & client requirements and speifications and industry standards. The role supports operational excellence by maintaining consistent product quality and reliable test results.Key Responsibilities1. Laboratory Testing & AnalysisPerform routine and specialized tests on sand samples (e.g., sieve analysis, grain size distribution, moisture content, turbidity, specific gravity).Conduct API/ISO standard testing relevant to oilfield sand (e.g., frac sand testing if applicable).Record and interpret test results accurately and promptly.Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.2. Quality ControlMonitor incoming raw materials and finished products for compliance with specifications.Identify and report deviations from quality standards.Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conforming materials.Assist in implementing quality control procedures and process improvements.3. Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate laboratory records, test logs, and reports.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management.Ensure proper documentation in accordance with ISO/QMS requirements.4. Equipment MaintenancePerform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of lab equipment.Ensure all instruments are in good working condition and properly certified.Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs when needed.5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards.Ensure safe handling of materials and chemicals in the laboratory.Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free lab environment.6. CollaborationWork closely with production and operations teams to ensure continuous quality improvement.Communicate test results and quality issues clearly to relevant departments.Support audits and inspections (internal and external).Qualifications & RequirementsEducationDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Geology, or a related field.Experience2–5 years of experience in a laboratory or quality control role, preferably in:Oilfield servicesSand processing plantsConstruction materials testingTechnical SkillsKnowledge of laboratory testing methods for sand and aggregates.Familiarity with API/ISO standards (preferred).Proficiency in using lab equipment and data recording systems.Basic computer skills (MS Excel, reporting tools).Soft SkillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and teamwork.Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.Working ConditionsBased at sand plant in Liwa (remote/desert location).Exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor conditions.Shift work may be required depending on operations.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy and reliability of test results.Compliance with quality standards.Timeliness of reporting.Reduction in product non-conformities.Adherence to HSE requirements.Additional RequirementsWillingness to work in remote locations.Physical fitness suitable for plant/lab environment.UAE experience is an advantage.
