Quality Manager (Machinery)Precision machining, aerospace, power generation, or rotating equipment manufacturing.A hands‑on Quality Manager responsible for leading all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities within a precision machining, turbomachinery, and custom manufacturing environment. This role oversees the site Quality Management System, directs inspection operations, and drives a strong culture of quality across shop, engineering, and supplier interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001 and industry/customer standards.Serve as the site’s Management Representative; coordinate internal/external audits and management reviews.Develop and maintain controlled documentation including work instructions, SOPs, inspection plans, and quality records.Establish and report quality KPIs to leadership.Lead CAPA processes, ensuring thorough root‑cause analysis and verified corrective actions.Manage calibration programs for all measurement and test equipment.Supervise QC inspectors; schedule work to support production priorities.Provide technical guidance on GD&T, measurement methods, and precision inspection tools (CMM, profilometers, hardness testers).Oversee first article, in‑process, and final inspections for close‑tolerance turbomachinery components.Review and approve FAIRs, inspection reports, and material certifications.Lead nonconformance disposition, MRB activities, NCR issuance, and closure tracking.Train and mentor QC staff on inspection standards and procedures.Partner with machinists and shop leadership to resolve quality issues at the source.Support incoming inspection of raw materials and subcontracted components.Participate in supplier audits and performance evaluations; escalate recurring issues through CAPA.Serve as primary contact for customer quality reps, third‑party inspectors, and certification auditors.Investigate customer quality escapes and field issues; prepare formal responses and resolution plans.Required Experience:7+ years in quality assurance/control within precision machining, aerospace, power generation, or rotating equipment manufacturing.Proven leadership of QC teams and QMS ownership in job‑shop or low‑volume, high‑complexity environments.Hands‑on experience with CMMs, precision measurement tools, and close‑tolerance component inspection.Strong background in nonconformance management, root‑cause analysis, and CAPA.
