Quality Technician

Job Overview:The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing raw materials, in-process components, maintenance and repair work, vehicles, parts, tools, and finished products to ensure compliance with technical, quality, safety, and industry specifications.The role supports quality assurance and QHSE activities by conducting inspections and audits, identifying and documenting non-conformances, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions, and maintaining accurate quality records. The Quality Technician works closely with maintenance, repair, manufacturing, and other relevant teams to ensure product quality, compliance, traceability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect and test raw materials, in-process components, vehicles, parts, tools, maintenance and repair work, and finished products to ensure compliance with specified technical and quality requirements.Verify adherence to applicable company, customer, industry, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.Perform quality inspections and basic workplace safety inspections to identify defects, discrepancies, hazards, and non-conformances.Conduct internal and external quality audits in accordance with applicable quality standards and procedures.Identify, document, and report quality issues, defects, non-conformances, and unsafe conditions.Perform root cause analysis for quality failures and non-conformances and support the development and implementation of corrective actions.Maintain accurate quality, inspection, audit, and QHSE records to support traceability and continuous improvement.Support incident and near-miss reporting activities when applicable.Apply basic risk assessment and hazard identification principles during inspection and workplace activities.Work proactively with maintenance, repair, manufacturing, and other relevant teams to address quality concerns and prevent recurrence.Liaise with external partners and suppliers to resolve quality issues and support compliance with applicable requirements.Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and quality improvements to ensure identified issues are properly addressed.Contribute to establishing and improving quality and QHSE processes to enhance product consistency and compliance.Support and educate team members in maintaining required quality and safety standards.Ensure all quality and inspection activities are conducted in accordance with applicable QHSE procedures and requirements.Qualifications & Requirements:Associate's degree or Technical Diploma in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemistry, or a related technical/scientific field; Bachelor's degree is preferred.Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Quality Management Systems within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, MRO, aerospace, or defense environment.Experience working with military/weapon-related equipment or systems is preferred.Knowledge of quality inspection, auditing, non-conformance, and corrective action processes.Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.Basic knowledge of risk assessment and hazard identification.Basic knowledge of incident and near-miss reporting.Ability to conduct basic workplace safety and quality inspections.Ability to prepare and maintain quality and QHSE reports, checklists, inspection records, and other relevant documentation.IOSH or equivalent recognized safety certification is preferred.Good written and spoken English.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.Strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and customer-focused skills.Strong accountability and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
