placemaker is working with a growing experiential design, events and fit-out business delivering exhibitions, corporate events, brand experiences and bespoke interiors for a range of leading clients.they’re looking for a quantity surveyor to join their commercial team and help turn creative concepts into commercially viable projects, from initial costing through to delivery.what you’ll be doingprepare cost estimates, bills of quantities and project budgets across exhibitions, events and fit-out projectsreview tender documents and interpret CAD drawings to develop accurate costingssource and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating competitive rates where requiredwork closely with design, sales and operations teams to ensure projects are commercially viable and delivered within budgetidentify cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions without compromising quality or the creative visionmanage project variations and support the commercial close-out of projects alongside the wider finance and operations teamswhat we’re looking forexperience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator / Commercial QS within exhibitions, events, and/or experiential.strong understanding of BOQs, estimating and project costingconfident reading and interpreting CAD drawingsexperience working with suppliers and subcontractorsstrong commercial awareness and negotiation skillshighly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlinesa collaborative communicator who can work across creative, commercial and operational teamsthe personality bityou’ll be sitting at the intersection of creative ideas and commercial reality, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys both.someone who can look at a design, understand how it will actually come together, work out what it will cost, and find a smarter way to make it happen.if you’re commercially minded, naturally curious and enjoy working in a fast-moving project environment, we’d love to hear from you.
