Position DescriptionWatson Biotech (Hong Kong R&D Center, Hong Kong Science Park) is recruiting an R&D Deputy General Manager focused on CTC liquid biopsy and tumor IVD in vitro diagnostics. This senior technical role is responsible for the Hong Kong R&D team’s daily work, carrying out core technology iteration, innovative product development and clinical transformation of CTC detection and tumor liquid biopsy product lines. This position concentrates on hands-on technical breakthroughs and pipeline innovation to consolidate the company’s technical advantages in tumor diagnostics and support long-term technical strategy.ResponsibilitiesRole focuses on hands-on technical R&D and innovation1.Technical Strategy & Roadmap: Responsible for tracking cutting-edge trends and technical bottlenecks in CTC and tumor liquid biopsy sectors; conduct formulation of product technical roadmaps, carry out iteration of existing products and pre-research of new technologies to sustain the company’s technical competitiveness.2.Full-cycle Technical R&D: Responsible for end-to-end technical R&D of CTC and liquid biopsy IVD products, conduct solution design, experimental verification, parameter optimization and performance validation in person. Perform all R&D work in compliance with ISO13485 and relevant regulatory standards; tackle key technical bottlenecks independently to guarantee stable technical delivery of all projects.3.Innovation & Patent Layout: Responsible for technical innovation in frontier directions including CTC organoid culture and AI-assisted interpretation; conduct sorting and refinement of core technologies, carry out intellectual property patent deployment to build the company’s proprietary technical barriers.4.Clinical Transformation & Verification: Responsible for pre-clinical and clinical technical verification work; conduct optimization of product technical schemes based on real clinical data, perform troubleshooting for technical barriers during the transformation from lab experimental technology to commercial IVD products.5.Technical Standardization & Industrial Landing: Responsible for establishing standardized R&D technical specifications for liquid biopsy products; conduct cross-department coordination with clinical, regulatory and production teams, perform resolution of technical problems emerging in product registration and industrialization, and maintain stable technical performance of mass-produced launched products.Responsible for other technical innovation tasks assigned by senior management.Requirements1.Education: Master’s degree or above in Biology, Immunology, Medicine, Clinical Laboratory Science or other biomedical related majors, with solid theoretical foundation in tumor diagnosis and cellular immunology.2.Core Experience: Over 10 years of IVD tumor diagnosis R&D experience, including no less than 3 years of senior technical post experience. Candidates must have proven track records of independently conducting full-cycle R&D and pushing successful commercialization of CTC/tumor liquid biopsy products.3.Professional Skills: Proficient in cellular immunology-based IVD technologies (immunofluorescence, immunomagnetic bead technology, ELISA, etc.). Candidates who can conduct development of microfluidic chips and matching supporting instruments are highly preferred; familiar with hands-on operation of CTC organoid culture and AI-assisted diagnosis technologies.4.Technical Competence: Able to conduct construction of complete liquid biopsy technical systems and carry out management of multiple parallel R&D projects. Possess acute industry insight to identify technical risks, conduct optimization of R&D solutions and deliver high-quality technical achievements on schedule.5.Comprehensive Quality: Strong technical communication and cross-team collaboration capabilities. Rigorous research attitude, proactive hands-on problem-solving ability, innovative thinking, and capability to conduct target delivery of technical indicators under tight working pressure.
