R&D Manager — AI & Full-Stack Engineering

Mashmari is looking for a hands-on R&D Manager with 5–7 years of relevant experience spanning AI/LLM engineering and full-stack product development. The role requires strong engineering experience across React/Vite, Node.js/Express, MongoDB/SQL, APIs and cloud deployment, together with the maturity to architect, code, review, mentor and take ownership. We are a small startup team and value passion, commitment, responsiveness, engineering rigour and the willingness to work long hours when the work demands it.Hands-on AI/LLM engineering experience is essential, including LLM APIs, RAG, embeddings, vector retrieval and prompt orchestration. The candidate should also have practical experience deploying and optimising open-weight models locally using technologies such as Ollama, llama.cpp, vLLM or equivalent, including quantisation and resource-aware inference. Experience deploying models both on GPU/CPU corporate servers and constrained edge devices will be particularly relevant. A key responsibility will be to help build a common AI services layer enabling Mashmari applications to securely use and switch between cloud-hosted and locally deployed AI models.The Founder is looking to develop a strong second line and seeks someone who wants to build and grow with the company over the long term.
