Radar Scientist

Role: Radar ScientistPurpose: Own the scientific accuracy of object-speed measurement and the interpretation of radar sensor data. Required Competencies:▪ 5+ yrs experience in radar systems, Doppler measurement, FMCW sensing, signal processing, and applied mathematics. ▪ Ability to develop target filtering, clustering, classification, and tracking methods. ▪ Ability to distinguish genuine vehicle measurements from reflections, stationary objects, ghost targets, and environmental interference. ▪ Understanding of cosine error, sensor mounting geometry, road curvature, vehicle trajectory, and their effects on measured speed. ▪ Ability to establish measurement confidence and reject ambiguous or unreliable observations. ▪ Ability to calculate speed error, repeatability, uncertainty, tolerance, and confidence intervals. ▪ Strong understanding of coordinate transformations, geometry, linear algebra, and three dimensional spatial relationships. ▪ Experience designing controlled tests using reference speed-measurement equipment. ▪ Ability to support legal-metrology evaluation and technical certification.Min Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant fieldPreferred Background ▪ Radar engineering▪ Signal processing▪ Automotive radar▪ Autonomous vehicles ▪ Sensor fusion ▪ ADAS or intelligent transportation systems. ▪ Measurement science or metrology
