Radiation Therapist

JOB SUMMARYProvides therapeutic and patient care services for the purpose of delivering radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDetermines and delivers appropriate patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician, dosimetrist, and physicistMonitors and documents patient's condition and reports any adverse reactions.Assesses and educates patients according to specific department protocols.Positions patients and selects anatomic/technical parameters accurately.Checks and adjusts necessary equipment, including linear accelerator.Performs machine QA as instructed by PhysicistPrepares and assembles alloy shielding blocs for patient treatmentPromptly reports equipment malfunctionsOther duties as assigned.QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSGraduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technologyA minimum of 2+ years of experience with radiation oncology specific electronic medical record as well as record and verify.Experience with external radiation therapy, IMRT, IGRT and CT simulation preferred.Board Certified Registered Radiation Therapist (R) with current state licensure as well as be certified in Radiation Therapy or equivalentT(ARRT) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required or equivalent
