Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Radiology Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays,ultrasounds, and other modalities, to produce high-quality images for radiologists' interpretation. The role involvesworking with advanced imaging technology, ensuring patient safety, adhering to radiation protection standards, andmaintaining high standards of clinical practice. Collaborating with a team of doctors and nurses, the RadiologySpecialist plays a crucial role in delivering patient care while following established radiology requirements andregulations to ensure safety.Key responsibilities of the roleManagerial/Administration:Contribute to developing Radiology service standards and ensure they are consistently met. Acting as a role model, they will deliver high clinical and operational performance standards by developing and supporting the multi-disciplinary clinical teams.Collaborates with nursing and allied health staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive officers and other stakeholders in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.To market, promote and profile the service to patients, referrers and the general public and to undertake business development activities.Technical:Responsible for the implementation and delivery of age appropriate patient care congruent with the mission, vision and values of the organisation.Performs all general radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols.Performs other radiography (special) procedures as required.Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards images to Radiologist for review and reporting.Ensures that Department activities are integrated and coordinated with key care departments.Ensures that equipment is properly maintained for a safe and efficient work environment.Utilises evidence-based practice to develop and implement standards that guide practice improvement initiatives.Quality & Safety:Evaluates factors related to safety, outcomes, effectiveness, cost, and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovations.Participates in Quality Assurance programs within the clinical care setting.Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Radiology, Diagnostic Imaging, or a related fieldMust be qualified and experienced in both Ultrasound and X-ray imagingMaintains valid, current licensure from own country.BLS certification.Not less than 2 years of post graduate experience in an acute care hospital.Knowledge of KSA Health Regulations.International accreditation experience.The ability to influence and implement change.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Able to work independently and collaboratively with others.Organized and able to work methodically.Excellent leadership skills.Able to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds.Fluent in both written and spoken English.
