This role includes preparing patients, operating radiographic equipment, ensuring radiation safety protocols, and maintaining accurate patient records. The Radiologic Technologist collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic images in an acute care hospital setting.Essential FunctionsPrepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfortVerify patient identification and clinical history prior to imaging proceduresOperate radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images as per established protocolsMaintain accurate patient records, including imaging procedures, patient history, and diagnostic outcomesImplement radiation safety measures to minimize patient and staff exposureAssist in the administration of contrast media as directed by a radiologistTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to appropriate personnelPerform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performanceCollaborate with radiologists to assess imaging quality and adjust techniques as neededMaintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control guidelinesKnowledge/Skills/Abilities/ExpectationsStrong knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety protocolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in high-stress, emergency situationsProficiency in using radiographic imaging equipment and electronic medical record systemsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and documentationDemonstrates commitment to continuous learning and maintaining ARRT certificationQualifications - ExternalEducationAssociate of Radiologic Technology requiredBachelor of Radiologic Technology preferredLicenses/CertificationsRegistered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) requiredState Radiologic Technologist License requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hireExperience1 years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred
